Secondary Market Loan Sales
There is an active and lucrative market for the sale of the guaranteed portion of your SBA loan. Premiums depend on current market conditions, as well as the interest rate, loan term, loan amount and funding date. But in general the premiums can provide substantial fee income to your bank.
Example 1: $4,500,000 loan priced at 2.75% over Prime with a 25 year term. Guaranteed portion was $3,375,000. Premium of 114.25. Income on sale $385,594.
Example 2: $300,000 loan priced at 2.25% over Prime with a 25 year term. Guaranteed portion was $225,000. Premium of 112.375. Income on sale $27,844.
Example 3: $1,500,000 loan priced at 2.75% over Prime with a 10 year term. Guaranteed portion was 75%. Premium of 110.50. Income on sale $118,125.
